This random moment

Something that randomly popped in my head:

When I was growing up, I never liked the whole "oh girl, go hug/kiss (insert family member here)" whenever we'd see them or visit.

Most times it made me uncomfortable and I just didn't wanna do it.

I was never asked if I wanted to.
I was just forced or it was expected of me to do so because they were "family."

Pretty sure if I had spoken up I would've gotten in trouble for "talking back" when in reality I would've just been expressing myself.

Who cares about my boundaries or feelings 'cause I was just a kid anyway, right?

😑
